John Lennon — legendary singer, songwriter, and co-founder of The Beatles — waskilled 35 years ago this evening.
On December 8, 1980, while Lennon and artist wife Yoko Ono were entering their apartment at The Dakota on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, Lennon was shot and killed.
Lennon was taken to Roosevelt Hospital in a police car and was pronounced dead on arrival in the emergency room.
